Vinh City begins primary school enrollment
(Baonghean.vn) - For the convenience of parents and students, enrollment is carried out in parallel in two forms: online and in person.
Today (August 5), schools in Vinh city began enrolling students for all three levels: preschool, primary and secondary. The students are children living in wards and communes according to the announced universal education list (survey data September 2021).
For the convenience of parents and students in the processadmissionThis year, the city directed schools to implement two forms, including online enrollment and direct enrollment at school.

This year's enrollment in Vinh city has its own characteristics because there are 2 schools in the area that are piloting the construction of advanced school models. Therefore, for primary school students (entering grade 1) in Le Mao ward, if they do not participate in the advanced model, parents can register their wishes for their students at a public school in the area.
Similarly, the target of universal education for 11-year-old children (entering grade 6) in Hung Phuc ward does not participate in the advanced school model following the integration trend at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School. Parents can register according to their wishes to study at a public secondary school in Vinh city.

Currently, through the synthesis of Le Mao Primary School and Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, the number of students in the school area registering to participate in the advanced model has reached 50% (nearly 100 students).
Teacher Pham Thi Truong Giang - Principal of Le Mao Primary School said: According to the universalization list, this year Le Mao ward has nearly 200 universalized students and so far 98 students have registered to study at the school. The rest are registered in neighboring schools around the ward, most concentrated in Quang Trung Primary School with 41 students, Hong Son Primary School with 21 students and schools such as Hung Binh Primary School, Ha Huy Tap Primary School. In addition, 9 students have transferred to private schools.

Right on the first day of procedures (morning of August 5), although there were two forms online and in person, the number of parents coming to school to do it directly was quite large. At Le Mao Secondary School, Ms. Le Thi Xuan (Tan Thanh block) said: My child's parents work far from home and do not have the conditions to submit the application for my child, so I came to school to ask the teachers to enter the data.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Thu - Principal of the school also said: With the online admission form, parents do not need to bring documents because all data is already on the popular list. For the convenience of parents, the school has assigned teachers to do the admission work to directly guide parents and support online login for parents right at the school.
In addition to universalizing education for students in the ward, this year Vinh city also created conditions for some special units. For example, in Hung Phuc ward, because there is no kindergarten in the area, for 5-year-old children, the ward will organize division by block, notify parents to contact Hung Binh public kindergarten, Hung Dung 2 and public kindergartens in neighboring areas to complete admission procedures (if needed).

During the enrollment process, schools prioritize children from poor and near-poor households, children from families with preferential policies, children from families of workers working in factories and industrial zones in the area with difficult circumstances, low and unstable income (for preschool level). For the remaining levels of education, in the case of students whose parents come to reside in the area from other localities, students transferred from other provinces (children of workers, poor families) who are not eligible for universal education, the school needs to consider and create favorable conditions to ensure the students' right to study.
Regarding this year's enrollment work, Ms. Hoang Phuong Thao - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh City said: The enrollment work in 2022 - 2023 of Vinh City has many difficulties because the student population has increased much more than in previous years.
Therefore, this year, the number of classes in the city also increased, in which the number of secondary schools increased the most with 47 classes (including 43 public classes and 4 non-public classes), the number of primary schools increased by 10 classes (including 3 public classes and 7 non-public classes). The number of preschool classes remained stable, with no increase.

According to the plan, by August 10, schools in the city will announce the enrollment results to parents. To ensure fairness, this year the city continues to use software to classify grades 1 and 6, and conduct a lottery to assign homeroom teachers for grades 1 to 6.
