Vinh City plans to invest in upgrading the entire Lenin - Xo Viet Nghe Tinh - Truong Thi Avenue.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Vinh City Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the overall investment project to upgrade Lenin Avenue, from Vinh airport to Phuong Dong Hotel, is expected to spend about 100 billion VND on green trees and campus.

Specifically, to upgrade and beautify the city's urban areas, after the investment is completedNight street on Cao Thang streetandWalking streeton Ho Tung Mau street; along with the renovation and upgrading of the sidewalk on Nguyen Van Cu street and soon Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets, Vinh city plans to invest in the overall upgrading of Lenin Avenue - Xo Viet Nghe Tinh - Truong Thi from Vinh airport to Phuong Dong hotel.

A representative of the Vinh City Construction Investment Project Management Board said: Lenin Avenue is over 6 km long, and was initially planned to be upgraded, paved, and have sidewalk trees and median strips adjusted before the 60th anniversary of Vinh City's founding in September 2023. However, due to the large volume of items and some additional items such as the roadbed at some intersections and the road sections showing cracks and subsidence, the Project Management Board had to survey and adjust the design and construction plan.
It is expected that over 500 billion VND will be spent on upgrading the entire Lenin Avenue, of which 400 billion will be spent on treating the foundation and re-paving the road surface, installing and refurbishing the lighting system, investing in drainage systems in some flooded areas, and re-paving the sidewalks with natural stone instead of the current block bricks. Nearly 100 billion VND will be spent on investing in renovating the median strip, renewing the campus and replanting trees on the sidewalks... Currently, consulting units are surveying and developing a design plan for the construction of the project for the City People's Committee and departments. If in time, construction will begin in early 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung - Deputy DirectorVinh City Green Park Joint Stock Companyadded: With about 100 billion VND dedicated to renovating the campus and planting trees on the median strip and sidewalks, Lenin Avenue promises to be not only the most beautiful model street in Vinh city but also one of the most beautiful and modern streets in the country.
Unlike the streets that have been planted with a specific type of tree in recent times, Lenin Avenue is quite long and has wide sidewalks, so the city will arrange mixed types of trees, in which each sidewalk segment will plant a separate type of tree that meets the criteria for urban green trees; the sidewalk and median strip will be renovated and redesigned as a green campus for people to enjoy and check-in...

In recent years, Lenin Avenue has been a street that the province has paid attention to investing in. In addition to the decorative lighting system, the median strip is also planted with areca palm trees, a typical tree, and flower gardens. Some sections of the sidewalk on both sides have been gradually planted with trees that meet the criteria for urban green trees such as: black star, poplar, rosewood, magnolia, Taiwan banyan, pink trumpet... However, after a period of use, the avenue has deteriorated due to frequent flooding, and cracks and peeling have appeared on the road surface. In addition, the sidewalk of the avenue is wide, but due to lack of investment, the current state is still messy and too shabby...

The city is in the process of reviewing the overall design plan for upgrading Lenin Avenue, along with a plan to renovate and plant trees that meet urban criteria. However, a few years ago, when considering granting construction permits for construction projects along Lenin Avenue, the city directed businesses to proactively invest in renovating sidewalks and choosing replacement trees according to the city's general planning. Therefore, some sidewalk sections on the avenue have been paved and planted with trees according to standards by businesses. The city only focuses on upgrading road and ditch infrastructure and renovating sidewalk sections, replacing trees that do not meet the design.
