Vinh City won the Gold Medal in Football at the 9th Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival, 2022

On August 5, in Vinh city, the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An held the closing ceremony of football - one of the competitions in the program of the 9th Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival, 2022.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of units and localities.

Football brings together 6 teams, with nearly 100 athletes, from localities in the province. The teams are divided into 2 groups, competing in a round-robin format, to select the 1st and 2nd teams in each group to advance to the next round.

After 3 days of exciting competition, Vinh City and Dien Chau District were the 2 excellent teams to be present in the final match. The final match was extremely attractive, fierce, dramatic, dedicating a football feast to the large audience who came to the stadium to watch and cheer.

With the possession of the once famous midfielder of Song Lam Nghe An - Nguyen Quang Tinh in the squad. So Vinh city football team excellently defeated Dien Chau district football team with a score of 3-2. In which Quang Tinh was the player who raised the score to 2-0 for the city team.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded Bronze medals to the football teams of Do Luong and Tan Ky districts; Silver medals to the football team of Dien Chau district; and Gold medals to the football team of Vinh city.

Up to now, the 9th Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival in 2022 has organized competitions and awarded prizes for 12/18 events. On August 13, the opening ceremony of the festival will be held at Vinh Stadium. From August 14 to 16, athletes will compete in 6 events including: Badminton, Athletics, Swimming, Chess, Crossbow Shooting and Tug of War.
