Vinh City passed 7 resolutions on socio-economic issues and activities of the People's Council.

Attending the meeting were comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, departments, branches of the city and wards and communes.

Continue to clarify many shortcomings and limitations

Entering the working program, the meeting listened to a summary report of the group discussion results with 75 opinions. Of which, there were 18 opinions on the economic field; 30 opinions on the fields of basic construction, site clearance, urban, land, environment; 12 opinions on the fields of culture - society; 5 opinions on the fields of direction, administration, administrative reform, national defense - security; 8 opinions on other issues; 2 opinions on the activities of the City People's Council.

Representatives of specialized departments and leaders of the City People's Committee explained and clarified many issues that delegates were interested in discussing in the group, related to many shortcomings, limitations, and obstacles that hinder the city's development.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee compared the total number of recommendations and feedback from voters over recent years and the first 6 months of 2022 as well as divided the fields to affirm that the opinions, feedback and concerns of voters and people not only remained unchanged but also increased in level, especially in the fields of urban management, land and site clearance.

To avoid the situation where voters and people reflect at any voter contact forum but do not resolve the issue, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that the city and communes and wards carefully study Plan No. 162 on resolving voters' and people's recommendations and reflections that the city has issued to take action in a positive, drastic and effective manner.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee also emphasized 5 key tasks of the government and the entire political system in the last 6 months of 2022, creating the common development of the city as well as solving the difficulties and problems that are arising. That is the role of the government in stimulating the economy, providing maximum support for businesses and people to develop the economy; focusing on mobilizing resources, in which, resolutely recommending the province to withdraw suspended projects and slow-progressing projects; inviting dynamic investors; having policies to attract resources from the people to participate in infrastructure investment and urban beautification.

In the coming time, the city will focus on clearing land for key projects and works; continue to prioritize administrative reform, focusing on raising awareness and responsibility of staff in the context of increasing tasks but not increasing the number of people working; reform the "one-stop shop"; strengthen the coordination between the city and wards, communes and between agencies and units. Along with that, focus on preparing content and work for the event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Vinh city's founding and the 235th anniversary of Phuong Hoang - Trung Do.

Speaking at the closing session, comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council requested the City People's Committee and city-level departments, agencies and branches, based on their functions and tasks, to develop specific plans and resolutely handle the issues raised at the group discussion session and the discussion in the hall.

The Chairman of the City People's Council also emphasized that the last 6 months of 2022 are decisive in completing the targets and tasks set for the year, therefore, he requested the City People's Committee to focus on directing and implementing the tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2022.

At the same time, proactively coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs and related departments and branches to speed up the completion of the Project to expand the administrative boundaries of Vinh city; review the contents of the tasks to be implemented according to Decision No. 827 of the Prime Minister; focus well on preparing for the Defense Zone Exercise.

The City People's Council delegates need to continue to promote their role in supervising the implementation of issues raised at the session, especially the problems, difficulties and concerns of the people; at the same time, actively participate with the Party Committee, the government, and the political system, create common strength, promote the city's development and resolve difficulties arising from practice, better meet the requirements and aspirations of voters and the people of the city.

The Chairman of the City People's Council also requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations from the city to the grassroots level to strengthen coordination with the People's Council and People's Committee to encourage union members to actively participate in emulation movements and contribute to the city's development.
