Over the years, the city-wide emulation movements have developed extensively in all areas. The content and form of emulation have been increasingly innovated, closely following the assigned political tasks, contributing to encouraging and motivating cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people to enthusiastically compete and strive.
Many emulation movements have had a strong influence and achieved many positive results such as: "Nghe An follows Uncle Ho's advice", "Nghe An joins hands to build new rural areas in the period of 2016 - 2020", "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind", "Building the style of police officers in Uncle Ho's homeland, brave, humane, serving the people", "Women actively study, work, create, build happy families", "Building a warm home of love"...

In particular, in 2018, the emulation movement to celebrate the 230th anniversary of Phoenix Trung Do - Vinh, 55 years of Vinh city, and 10 years of class I urban area created a widespread effect.
In early 2020, to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels and the Patriotic Emulation Congress, the city launched emulation movements "Achieving outstanding achievements in successfully implementing socio-economic, defense and security goals in 2020"; "Welcoming the Patriotic Emulation Congress of Nghe An province for the period 2015 - 2020, towards the 10th National Patriotic Emulation Congress"; "Welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels for the term 2020 - 2025"...

Through emulation movements, an exciting and enthusiastic competitive atmosphere has been created among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life. In particular, in the field of economic development, with the rapid and strong shift in economic structure, the city has basically achieved and exceeded the planned targets.

Regarding the fields of culture - society, health, and education, attention has been paid to promoting. National defense and security have been maintained, ensuring security, politics, and social order and safety. Social security policies have been fully and promptly implemented; humanitarian and charitable activities and gratitude movements have been promoted, people's lives have been significantly improved, the poverty rate has decreased to below 0.6%, exceeding the set target.
In order to continue promoting the patriotic emulation movement, striving to complete and exceed the targets and tasks of socio-economic development, 16 collectives and 29 individuals with many outstanding achievements in the emulation movement in the period of 2015 - 2020 were commended and rewarded.

In order for the patriotic emulation movement in 2020 and the following years to become a strong driving force in construction and development, Vinh city clearly identifies the goal of innovating and improving the quality of patriotic emulation movements associated with effectively implementing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's moral example.
At the same time, promote the spirit of solidarity, dynamism and creativity within the entire Party, army and people; mobilize and effectively use all resources for economic development with a reasonable and sustainable growth rate.
