Vinh City honors more than 300 outstanding students and teachers

On the morning of June 4, Vinh City People's Committee held a ceremony to honor excellent students and teachers with achievements in training excellent students in the 2018-2019 school year. Comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training, leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors and Vinh City People's Committee attended the ceremony.

This is an annual activity organized by Vinh City People's Committee for many years to encourage teachers and students to make efforts in teaching, learning and training.

In the 2018-2019 school year, along with improving the quality of comprehensive education at all levels, the city's discovery and nurturing of excellent students has achieved many outstanding results. In particular, at the National Excellent Student Competition, the city had 76 students winning prizes. Notably, in early June, the city had 1 student winning a Silver Medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

At the secondary school level, the city has 78/102 students recognized as excellent students of the province, ranking first in the province with 8 first prizes, 25 second prizes, 26 third prizes and 19 encouragement prizes. In addition, many students of the city have also won many high prizes in competitions on Science and Technology, Reading Culture Ambassador, "UPU International Letter Writing" competition, and Young Informatics.

At the ceremony to honor 243 outstanding students and 60 teachers with achievements in training excellent students, comrade Dau Vinh Thinh - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee warmly praised the efforts of the entire city's Education sector in the last school year.

To continue improving the quality of education, affirming the position of a type 1 urban area of ​​the regional center, he also requested the Department of Education to continue to have many strong innovative solutions, build a team that meets the requirements, works responsibly, enthusiastically, effectively, and in the right direction of education to develop qualities and capacities.
