Thus, after nearly 23 hours, the world has witnessed 102,866 more cases of Covid-19 and up to 6,014 deaths due to this disease. Compared to the data also from Worldometer at 11:55 p.m. on April 24, the number of cases and deaths increased by 38,630 and 2,397 respectively.
According to the latest data table from Worldometer, the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the US is more dangerous and complicated than ever. Specifically, at 5:43 a.m. above, the US recorded 922,293 cases of Covid-19 and 52,061 deaths from this disease. These are very large numbers, accounting for a large proportion of the total number of cases and deaths in the world. The US is leading the world in both cases and deaths.
The list of 10 countries with the highest number of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the world to date, from highest to lowest, is: (1) USA, (2) Spain, (3) Italy, (4) France, (5) Germany, (6) UK, (7) Türkiye, (8) Iran, (9) China, and (10) Russia.
Russia is the latest country to join this sad top 10. The Covid-19 situation in Russia is showing many negative developments contrary to many previous predictions.
Currently, China has only 82,804 cases of Covid-19 and 4,632 deaths from this disease. Considering China's huge population, the rate of Covid-19 infection and death among the Chinese population is much lower than that of the US. However, it should be noted that so far, Worldometer's data table has not included information on the number of Covid-19 tests conducted by China in the context of the US and some Western countries accusing China of a lack of transparency on the Covid-19 issue.
Another noteworthy point of the Worldometer data table is that so far there is still no information about the Covid-19 epidemic situation in North Korea - one of the most secretive countries in the world.
The Netherlands, the country most affected by the idea of natural herd immunity, has so far recorded 4,289 deaths from Covid-19. In Sweden, the death toll from the disease continues to climb, reaching 2,152.
In Southeast Asia, Singapore leads ASEAN in the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections (with 12,075 cases). But in terms of Covid-19 deaths, Indonesia leads Southeast Asia, with 647 deaths. Indonesia is also the second largest outbreak in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 deaths in Malaysia has surpassed the corresponding number in Australia.
Currently, the Covid-19 pandemic has directly affected 210 countries and territories around the world./.
