Four more communes of Nam Dan district recognized as meeting 'Model New Rural Area' standards

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision 1068/QD-UBND on recognizing communes that meet model new rural standards.

Accordingly, there are 4 recognized communes: Nam Anh, Nam Cat, Nam Nghia, Nam Giang (Nam Dan district).

In 2022, the leadership and direction of new rural construction in the province in general and in communes registered as model new rural areas in particular encountered many difficulties.

Specifically: This is the first year of implementing the set of criteria for building new rural areas at all levels for the 2021-2025 period, with many new contents, targets and higher requirements; meanwhile, the slow guidance documents affect the direction and implementation of localities;

The planned capital source in 2022 was allocated late, so the investment plan for infrastructure construction and production development to serve the implementation criteria was slow; The mobilization of other resources for building model new rural areas in localities is still limited...

However, after registering with the province, with high political determination, attention and participation of all levels and sectors, and strong direction of the steering committees of localities in Nam Dan, positive results were achieved and the project was completed on schedule.

Accordingly, the communes of Nam Anh, Nam Nghia, Nam Cat, and Nam Giang have invested synchronously in rural infrastructure, creating a spacious, green, clean, and beautiful rural appearance. In particular, the average income per capita in these communes has reached approximately 64 million VND/year; The spiritual life of the people has gradually improved.

Many high-tech agricultural models and linkages in agricultural production have developed remarkably: Model of growing clean vegetables, tubers and fruits in greenhouses and net houses in Nam Anh and Nam Cat communes; Farm economic model combined with eco-tourism and experiential tourism; Homestay in Nam Giang, Nam Anh and Nam Cat communes... bring high economic efficiency, opening up a new direction in sustainable agricultural production.

In addition, in the process of building a model new rural commune, many local products have been recognized as OCOP products such as: Sa Nam Tuong, turmeric starch, tapioca starch... (Nam Anh), veal sausage in Nam Nghia, sour sausage in Nam Cat, rural tourism services in Nam Giang... Thereby raising the level, creating brands, promoting and promoting trade for products, helping local products have stable output, increasing revenue, and giving people more jobs and income.

In particular, according to the survey, the rate of people's satisfaction with the national target program on building new-style rural areas in communes is high, especially in Nam Giang and Nam Cat communes, reaching 99.9%.

In the decision, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the steering committee of the national target program on new rural construction in Nam Dan district and the above 4 communes to be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of the achieved criteria. According to the decision, each commune recognized as meeting the advanced new rural standards will be awarded a welfare project worth 700 million VND.

Thus, cumulatively, up to this point, the whole province has 6 model new rural communes./.
