All three are workers at Pouyuen Company (Binh Tan District), who participated in the strike and riots on the morning of June 11. They admitted that they did not understand anything about the Special Economic Zone Law or Cyber Security, but only joined the crowd in protesting. That day, when they went to the company, they saw many people quitting their jobs, gathering and shouting, spilling out onto Highway 1, causing traffic jams and disorder... so they followed suit.
When the riot police blocked the company gate, Thuy and Nghia threw bricks and stones continuously. Even though the soldiers retreated deep and hid behind their shields, the workers continued to approach and throw stones directly at them.
Thuy and Nghia both said: "I saw many people throwing things so I followed suit, now I don't understand why I did it." Thanh, the manager, shouted and incited the workers, broke iron pipes and gave them to everyone to attack the police. Knowing that the police were looking for him, he just turned himself in.
In connection with the incident, the police previously also detainedNguyen Van Tru(36 years old, worker at factory 171, area D, Pouyen Company) -He hugged a rock weighing more than 30 kg and threw it straight at the heads of the mobile soldiers, causing one to collapse.
