Valedictorian of A1 block in Nghe An, never attended extra classes

In the small but neat and tidy study corner, Minh modestly shared his academic achievements. In primary school, his teacher found his reading voice inspiring so he was chosen to compete in the district and won third prize. Then he was chosen to compete in the clean and beautiful handwriting competition, Minh also won third prize and continued to win first prize in the online Math competition.

In grade 2, Minh passed the entrance exam to Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School. Thanks to his efforts in studying, in grade 9, he won the third prize in English at the provincial level and the National IOE Encouragement. In grade 3, Minh studied at Do Luong 1 High School and continued to improve his achievements with the second prize in Physics at the provincial level and the National IOE Bronze Medal.

Sharing his learning experience, Minh said: “Since I started school, I have not attended any extra classes. I studied Math and Physics online, did exercises from specialized schools and the Department of Education. I also read and completed 3 books “Secrets to Reviewing for University Entrance Exams”, and completed all the exercises given by the teacher in class. For English, I watched foreign TV shows, watched movies, and spoke along to remember many phrases and word usage, and read more foreign electronic newspapers.”

In the 2018 National High School Exam, Nguyen Thi Minh registered for the A1 university entrance exam with the subjects: Math, Physics, English and she achieved the highest score in the A1 block in Nghe An province with a total score of 27.15. Of which, Math was 9.2; Physics: 8.75; English 9.2.

Also in this exam, Nguyen Thi Minh was one of the few candidates taking both Natural Science and Social Science subjects. Taking so many subjects, Minh did not feel stressed. Because she said she had finished the university entrance exam subjects first, so she felt more comfortable with the Social Science subjects.

If we consider the scores of many exam blocks, few candidates have achieved as much as Minh, considering block A: 24.45 points, block A1: 27.15 points, block D: 25.45 points, block B: 20.95 points, block C: 19.5 points. An impressive achievement for a student who studied quite evenly in all subjects.

Knowing that he achieved the highest achievement in block A1 in the whole province, Minh's parents were very happy, because their hard work and savings in the fields to save for their child's education had partly fulfilled their dream.

Minh's father, Nguyen Dac Ha, said: "During his studies, his family always encouraged him, and his teachers occasionally called to talk to his family. I personally saw that he made great efforts to study, and his family was very happy to get high scores."

Born into a family of 3 sisters, Minh is the eldest sister, both parents are farmers, unlike other children of the same age, most of whom have and know how to use mobile phones, but Minh has just got his own phone. That phone was given to him by his father, a reward for his good academic results.
