Prime Minister appointed Head of National Counter-Terrorism Steering Committee
The Prime Minister has just decided to strengthen the National Steering Committee for Counter-Terrorism.
Accordingly, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is the Head of the Committee. Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, is the Deputy Head of the Committee.

Members include: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh; Minister, Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung; Minister of Transport Truong Quang Nghia; Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan; Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien; Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung; Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Le Minh Hung; Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security in charge of security work (standing member).
The Steering Committee is responsible for advising the Government and the Prime Minister on organizing and directing anti-terrorism activities nationwide; assisting the Government and the Prime Minister in organizing, implementing, and coordinating inter-sectoral implementation of anti-terrorism work.
In addition, inspect, urge and guide the Steering Committee for Counter-Terrorism of ministries, branches, provinces and centrally run cities to carry out counter-terrorism work; submit to the Prime Minister for promulgation of plans to handle situations, mechanisms for directing and commanding the handling of terrorist situations.
At the same time, advise the Government and the Prime Minister on directing the handling of terrorist cases in cases where a state of emergency regarding national security, social order and safety must be declared or there is a threat to national security, social order and safety but not to the extent of declaring a state of emergency.
The Ministry of Public Security is the standing agency of the National Steering Committee for Counter-Terrorism Prevention and Control and has a specialized advisory and support agency called the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Counter-Terrorism Prevention and Control./.
