On the afternoon of January 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee on the organization of the Lunar New Year 2023 and key tasks after Tet, promoting work right from the first days and months of the new year.

To prepare well for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2023, all levels, sectors and localities have seriously implemented Directive No. 19 of the Secretariat and Directive No. 22 of the Prime Minister.

Ministries, agencies and localities have issued documents directing, guiding and implementing all aspects of work, and organizing regular on-call duty to organize a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year with the spirit of "letting no one go without Tet".

Social policies were implemented "correctly, sufficiently, and promptly", attention was paid to the care of material and spiritual life for all classes of people; policies were promptly implemented for policy families, the poor, the disadvantaged, and workers in difficult circumstances. By the 5th day of Tet, it was estimated that 63 localities had spent about 9,500 billion VND to support over 25 million people.

The Prime Minister approved 6 decisions to support over 18,000 tons of rice to relieve hunger for nearly 200,000 households with over 1.2 million people in 17 provinces on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao and the 2023 crop year. There have been 6.5 million union members and workers benefiting from the care activities of the trade union organization with a total budget of over 4,581 billion VND...

The average salary of employees at enterprises in 2022 is 8.25 million VND/month, an increase of 6% compared to 2021. In addition to salary and Tet bonus, depending on conditions, enterprises also have other forms of support and care for employees.

Goods for Tet are abundant, quality is guaranteed, prices are stable, ensuring the supply of essential goods. Thanks to management experience from previous years, transportation, including Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports, is basically smooth, meeting the travel needs of people and the circulation of goods. Agricultural crops are in season, prices are good, farmers are excited.

Compared to the same period of Lunar New Year 2022, although traffic accidents increased by 8 injured people, they decreased by 12 cases (-7.3%), decreased by 3 deaths (-3.3%)...

Strictly implement regulations on public service culture, discipline, administrative discipline, practice thrift, fight waste and prevent corruption and negativity. Information, propaganda, cultural, sports and tourism activities are organized in a diverse, rich, vibrant and traditional manner.

Many agencies and localities have proactively developed programs and plans to implement the movement "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" in the Spring of Quy Mao 2023, ensuring practicality, effectiveness, and no ostentation, associated with strengthening forest protection and development in 2023...

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that, in general, the organization of preparations and celebrations for the Lunar New Year 2023 achieved the set goals under the direction of the Secretariat, the Government and the Prime Minister, ensuring a joyful, healthy, warm, safe and economical Tet, so that everyone and every family can celebrate Tet, creating new energy and new momentum for the whole nation to enter the new year.

The Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies, localities, organizations and units to urgently focus on work right after the Tet holiday, not to delay and affect production, business and socio-economic activities, especially the backlog of work due to the Tet holiday.

The Prime Minister will issue a Directive on key tasks that need to be focused on immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday. The Prime Minister emphasized a number of tasks such as promoting public investment disbursement, implementing 3 national target programs, building a national database on population, etc.

The head of the Government requested to review revenue sources to focus on salary increases, national reserves, national security and defense, transport infrastructure, health infrastructure, education, culture, etc.

At the same time, strengthen the review and removal of difficulties and obstacles in institutions and regulations to unblock resources. In particular, urgently submit to the Government a draft Decree amending and supplementing Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP on petroleum trading in the spirit of reducing intermediaries and administrative procedures.
