Swedish Prime Minister: Car crash shows signs of terrorist attack

The Swedish intelligence agency has confirmed that the truck that crashed into a crowd in central Stockholm, Sweden, killing at least three people and injuring many others, was a deliberate attack.

Meanwhile, according to the Swedish news agency TT, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven confirmed that Sweden had been attacked. He said that many signs showed that this was an act of terrorism.

Police have advised people to avoid gatherings in central Stockholm. The Stockholm metro system has also been temporarily suspended.

The attack happened at 13:00 GMT (20:00 Vietnam time) when a truck plowed into a crowd on Drottninggatan - Stockholm's largest pedestrian street - and then crashed into a series of nearby department stores.

Swedish authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
