Prime Minister receives Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam

On the afternoon of September 12, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Mr. Kuinio Umeda, Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam, to discuss promoting a number of cooperation projects between the two countries.

At the reception, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was pleased to see that the relationship between the two countries is developing well, going into depth, concretizing the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership. More and more Japanese investors are interested in the Vietnamese market, including projects in the fields of banking, infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, bringing benefits to businesses of the two countries.

The Prime Minister appreciated the coordination of the Japanese Embassy and the Ambassador personally in promoting cooperation between the two countries in recent times.

The Prime Minister said that this morning, he visited and worked with the Hanoi National University, of which the Vietnam-Japan University is a member. The Prime Minister inspected the progress of the construction of the school in Hoa Lac and directed the competent agencies of Vietnam to speed up the implementation of the project to build the Hanoi National University, including the facilities of the Vietnam-Japan University, an important symbol of the good relationship between the two countries.

Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his interest in the Vietnam-Japan University project, Ambassador Kuinio Umeda said that the project will contribute to promoting the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan. Noting that many Japanese investors are interested in investing in Vietnam, the Ambassador hoped that the authorities of the two countries would continue to create the most favorable conditions to promote cooperation between businesses. Some of the areas that Japanese businesses are interested in include high-efficiency, environmentally friendly coal-fired thermal power, supporting industries, high-tech agriculture, and climate change response projects.

Taking note of Ambassador Kuinio Umeda's comments, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that he will create all favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam.
