Prime Minister requests to ensure traffic order and safety on the occasion of National Day September 2

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed and issued the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch on ensuring traffic order and safety during the National Day holiday on September 2 and the peak month of traffic safety for students going to school.

Resolutely handle and suppress subjects who resist law enforcement officers

To better serve people's travel needs and ensure traffic order and safety during the National Day holiday on September 2 and the peak month of traffic safety for students going to school, the Prime Minister requested ministries and agencies to direct and implement the contents well.

Specifically, the Ministry of Public Security directed local police to strengthen patrols, control, and strictly handle violations of traffic order and safety in the spirit of respect for the law, handle them resolutely and persistently, without restricted areas or exceptions, focusing on handling violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents such as violations of alcohol and drug concentration regulations, speeding violations; proactively prevent, stop, and strictly handle acts of gathering to disturb public order and illegal racing.

The Prime Minister also requested to resolutely handle and suppress those who act against law enforcement officers; increase the number of forces to regulate, reasonably divide traffic, and guide safe and smooth traffic, especially on routes and areas where traffic is forecast to increase during the National Day holiday.

The Ministry of Public Security coordinates with the Ministry of Education and Training to strengthen propaganda and guidance for students on safe traffic skills; directs the Traffic Police and Commune Police to strengthen inspection and handling of violations of traffic order and safety in school areas according to their authority.

At the same time, handle violations of traffic order and safety laws for high school students, combined with handling the act of handing over vehicles or allowing unqualified people to drive vehicles (promptly inform the school about cases of student violations so that appropriate forms of education, reminders, and handling can be provided).

Serve well the travel needs of students

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport to direct its affiliated agencies, Departments of Transport and transport businesses to have plans to ensure capacity and quality of transport services, ensure traffic safety, especially passenger transport by road, rail and air during the National Day holiday, to better serve the travel needs of students entering the new school year.

Along with that, coordinate with the competent authorities of the Education and Training sector to direct the review of schools that use contract cars to pick up and drop off students, and require transportation units to comply with regulations...

With the Ministry of Education and Training, the Prime Minister directed the coordination with ministries, branches and localities to implement the "Peak month of traffic safety for students going to school - September", directed and guided schools to promote education on knowledge and skills of safe traffic participation for students, and strengthened guidance for students to comply with traffic rules when driving electric motorbikes and electric bicycles.

Educational institutions in the province and city coordinate with the parents' representative committee not to let children drive motorbikes if they are not old enough or do not have a suitable driver's license...

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Information and Communications to direct news agencies and newspapers to increase the duration and content of propaganda on traffic order and safety during the National Day holiday.

In particular, persistently mobilizing people to implement "If you drink alcohol or beer - do not drive"; "Do not use the phone while driving"; "Wear a standard helmet when riding a motorbike, scooter, or electric bicycle"; "Wear a seat belt when sitting in a car"; "Obey speed regulations".

The Ministry of Information and Communications shall strengthen the review and strict handling of the posting of information on social networking platforms that violate regulations on management, posting, and provision of press information, negatively affecting the assurance of traffic order and safety.

In addition, the Prime Minister also requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct agencies, sectors and functional forces to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people and tourists to comply with legal regulations on traffic order and safety.

Localities should proactively develop plans to organize safe and smooth traffic, especially on routes and areas with high risks of traffic accidents and traffic congestion in the locality; announce hotline numbers on ensuring traffic order and safety to receive and promptly handle people's feedback.
