According to Daily NK, customers in North Korea can now order a taxi with a phone call and a car of their choice will be there within 10 minutes, day or night.

“People with money in the city like to call a taxi right to their doorstep on special occasions like holidays and birthdays to take them to their favorite restaurants,” a source in Pyongsong told Daily NK.
Customers have to pay a fare of 1-2 USD (23,000-46,000 VND). This amount is 3 times higher than calling a regular taxi. However, this service is still developing strongly and competition between taxi companies is increasingly fierce.
A few years ago, taxi drivers had to hire middlemen to find passengers. Middlemen could earn $50 a day. That means taxi drivers earn much more. Taxi driving is fast becoming one of the most popular jobs in North Korea.
The taxi market has grown so rapidly that several businesses, such as Daedong River Passenger Transport Company, national airline Air Koryo, Mirim Equestrian Club and Masikryong Ski Resort, have established their own taxi companies and launched a range of products.
