Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office wishes a Happy Lunar New Year at the Department of Education and Training
On the afternoon of January 15, a working delegation from the Vinh Diocese led by Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of Vinh Diocese visited and extended New Year greetings to the Department of Education and Training on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Receiving the delegation were Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training; along with Deputy Directors of the Department, representatives of the leaders of the Department of Education and Training's departments and offices.
In a warm, friendly atmosphere, welcoming the New Year.Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Longexpressed his joy when visiting and celebrating the New Year for the first time at the Nghe An Department of Education and Training. Bishop Alphong Nguyen Huu Long shared his gratitude for the good feelings that the leaders of the Department of Education and Training have shown to the Vinh Diocese Bishop's House in the past time.

The Bishop also expressed his sincere thanks for the attention and dedicated support of schools and teachers to the children of the Catholic community. Under the guidance of teachers, many students have become successful in their careers, serving the country, serving the people, living a good life and upholding their religion.
Expressing joy and appreciation for the outstanding achievements that the Nghe An Education and Training sector has achieved over the past years, the Bishop believes that in the 2024-2025 school year, the Nghe An Education sector will continue to achieve even greater achievements, worthy of the tradition of studiousness of Nghe An students.

On behalf of the leaders of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, comrade Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department expressed his joy when welcoming Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long and the delegation of the Vinh Diocese to visit and congratulate for the first time; thanked the Bishop for his sincere feelings and the important contributions from priests, dignitaries, and religious in the cause of educating people of the Education sector of Nghe An province.
On behalf of the industry leaders, comrade Thai Van Thanh also discussed the outstanding results of the past school year.
Last year, Nghe An Education sector focused on effectively implementing socio-economic targets related to education and training. As of December 31, 2024, 222 more schools were recognized as meeting national standards, reaching 80.3% (exceeding the target of the Provincial Party Congress). Comprehensive education quality affirmed its top position in the country, through the results of national and international exams and competitions. In the 2024 National Excellent Student Exam, Nghe An continued to rank 4th nationwide, with 90 students winning prizes; 7 students won regional and international medals. The results of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities, up 10 places compared to 2023.
The Director of the Department hopes that, on the basis of solidarity, friendship, and all for the sake of beloved students, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, together with priests, dignitaries and monks, will continue to guide the parishioners to promote the spirit of "Respect for God, love for country", join hands to contribute to building the Nghe An Education sector to continue to develop and achieve even better results.
