Vinh City: More than 750 campaigns to clear traffic safety corridors
(Baonghean.vn) - From April 15, 2017 to now, the forces of Vinh City and wards and communes in the area have organized over 750 campaigns to clear traffic safety corridors and sidewalks.
From April 15, 2017 (the official date of forced clearance) to now, Vinh City has organized over 750 trips to clear traffic safety corridors and sidewalks. Mobilizing 1,950 participants with full equipment such as excavators, drills, cars... throughout the city.
Preliminary results achieved from April 15, 2017 to present: Vinh City has confiscated over 1,750 advertising signs placed on sidewalks and roadsides that are not in accordance with regulations; confiscated over 1,250 sets of tables and chairs; demolished over 1,050 types of fixed awnings, canvas covers, and mobile awnings on sidewalks that are not in accordance with regulations.

In addition, the city has handled 535 gathering points for construction materials, goods, and illegal production, business, and trading services on sidewalks and roads; demolished 195 temporary houses and car parking frames encroaching on sidewalks and roads; handled over 2,750 cases of private housing projects, agencies, and units occupying sidewalks; handled 63 car wash service points on sidewalks and roads; cleared 215 cases of illegal markets and sales points...

Some localities have launched strong campaigns and achieved positive results such as Truong Thi, Hung Phuc, Hung Binh, Hong Son, Ben Thuy wards...
To prevent the reoccupation of sidewalks after clearance, last August, the Vinh City People's Committee established a Rapid Response Team to handle violations of urban order in the city. The Rapid Response Team is responsible for carrying out emergency tasks, even outside of working hours, to quickly and effectively handle violations of urban order, contributing to changes in urban civilization.

After 3 months of establishment, the team has organized 54 campaigns to clear traffic safety corridors and sidewalks. Public order fines were imposed on 117 cases with a total fine of more than 189 million VND. In addition, the team has handled 702 cases of cars and motorbikes illegally parked, with a total fine of more than 154 million VND./.
