Vinh City and Cua Lo Town complete the first injection of Covid-19 vaccine for people

On the morning of November 20, Mr. Tran Minh Tue - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health said that as of November 19, the whole province had injected nearly 2.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. On November 19 alone, localities in the province injected more than 108,000 doses.
Thus, to date, more than 1.5 million people in Nghe An have received at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine (reaching a rate of 46.7% compared to the total population and 64.2% compared to people aged 18 and over). Of these, more than 633,000 people have received 2 doses (reaching a rate of 19.2% compared to the total population of the province and 26.4% compared to people aged 18 and over in the province).

According to the leader of Nghe An Department of Health, the two localities of Vinh City and Cua Lo Town have completed the first injection for people. According to Ms. Ho Thi Hoa - Head of Vinh City Health Department, because there are many units and forces in the area that organize vaccination, there are no exact figures. However, the authorities estimate that at least 95% of people in Vinh City aged 18 and over have received at least 1 injection, the rest are mainly people who are not eligible for vaccination.
"In the past few days, loudspeakers in blocks and hamlets have continuously announced to find people who have not received the first dose, but no one has been found. Currently, we still have 1,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine left over," said Ms. Hoa, adding that according to initial statistics, Vinh City has about 250,000 people aged 18 and over.
Currently, Vinh City is urgently injecting 70,000 doses of Verocell vaccine and more than 10,000 doses of Abdala to the people, expected to be completed in the next few days. "After completing this batch, there are about 4,000 people waiting to receive the second dose of Astrazeneca, which will cover the entire Vinh City with vaccines. These 4,000 people still have about 3 weeks left until the day to receive the second dose," Ms. Ho Thi Hoa added.
Similarly, Cua Lo town has also completed the first injection for local residents. As of November 19, nearly 33,000 people in the town had received at least one dose of the vaccine, reaching nearly 99% of the total population aged 18 and over. Of these, 23,322 people had received two doses of the vaccine. According to the leaders of Cua Lo town, the remaining 1% were people who had been screened but were not eligible for vaccination.
