Historic flash floods cause damage of about 215 billion VND in Ky Son district
(Baonghean.vn) - The flash flood that occurred in the early morning of October 2 caused severe damage to the property of people in the mountainous district of Ky Son, as well as traffic and other works... with a total loss of over 215 billion VND.

According to the latest statistics of the District People's CommitteeKy Son, for residential housing,flash floodcaused damage of 80 billion VND. 621 houses of people were affected, of which 55 houses in Ta Ca commune and Muong Xen town were completely collapsed; 49 houses in Ta Ca and Nam Can were severely damaged; the rest were damaged by 50% or less.

The education sector suffered a loss of 5 billion VND, including 3 schools affected, severely damaged in Ta Ca commune and the boarding house of Nam Can Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities with 30% damage.
Flash floods also completely damaged 7 domestic water works in Canh, Binh Son 1, Cau Tam, Son Ha, Hoa Son, Son Thanh villages of Ta Ca commune; Noong De village of Nam Can commune, with estimated damage of 6 billion VND.
People's property was also severely damaged, when the flood swept away many cars, buried hundreds of motorbikes and bicycles; hundreds of televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, computers, water purifiers, gas stoves, personal records of officials, workers and employees in agencies and units and many other facilities were swept away, with estimated damage of over 12 billion VND.

Traffic routes on National Highway 7 through Muong Xen town, Ta Ca commune and provincial road 543D; district road from Muong Xen - Tay Son; Khe Nan Chieu Luu - Na Ngoi route; Huoi Tu - Na Loi - Keng Du route; Xieng Thu - Bao Thang route... and inter-village and intra-village roads in Nam Can and Ta Ca communes were seriously eroded and damaged, with an estimated loss of 100 billion VND.
In addition, the flood also damaged 42 hectares of rice fields and 10 hectares of upland rice; 5 hectares of ponds, livestock... along with dozens of fallen and broken electric poles, broken wires... Total damage in all fields is estimated at over 215 billion VND.

Immediately after the flash flood, Ky Son district mobilized all means and human resources, along with the support of military units, security forces and other forces, to initially overcome the damage.
In particular, with their hearts turned towards the Ky Son flood area, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province promptly supported the locality with material relief to help people in the most difficult days.
