Solemn Ceremony to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Uncle Ho's Visit to Vinh Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District

Attending the ceremony were comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities in the province; Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Dang Che.The ceremony was also attended by many historical witnesses and people of Vinh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

Homeland is a deep love

In the life of President Ho Chi Minh, the homelandNghe Analways in his heart, for him "homeland is a heavy duty and great love". He visited his hometown twice, in 1957 and 1961. And during his visit to his hometown in 1961, Yen Thanh district was honored to welcome him to visit Vinh Thanh Agricultural Cooperative (now Vinh Thanh commune).

During the years 1958 - 1960, Yen Thanh district implemented the plan of socialist reform and socio-economic development. Especially in the education work of the district, it has achieved some important achievements. Being the leading district in the fight against illiteracy in Nghe An, it was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the Party and the State.

Educational activities, popular education, arts, physical education and sports developed evenly throughout the district. At the end of the period 1955 - 1957, Yen Thanh district was recognized by the province as the "leading flag" in economic recovery and cultural and social development.

Uncle Ho worked with leaders of Vinh Thanh commune on December 10, 1961.

In particular, Vinh Thanh commune is a typical locality in building cooperatives and has moved from low to high level. This is a new model of Nghe An, which has had a great influence on the emulation movement in production in the district's labor exchange groups during this period. Vinh Thanh commune is also a bright spot of the province in the movement of planting trees, irrigation, fertilizer production, collective animal husbandry and culture and education with high achievements.

On the morning of December 10, 1961, President Ho Chi Minh visited Vinh Thanh Agricultural Cooperative - a typical unit of the district at that time. Here, he visited the kindergarten, livestock farm, hospital, visited and gave gifts to some people and talked and met intimately with many cadres and people at Vinh Thanh Primary School, praising the achievements in planting trees, raising livestock, improving agricultural tools, irrigation, fertilizers, disease prevention and sanitation, building cooperatives... of the locality.

At the same time, he also kindly reminded the Party Cell of the role of directing to improve productivity, production efficiency and build rural solidarity. He advised: "The Party Cell must further strengthen rural solidarity, make all members and farmers excited and enthusiastic to participate in production, practice thrift, develop and consolidate the Cooperative".

In order to preserve the souvenirs and memorable images of that December 10, 1961, the government and people of Yen Thanh district in general and Vinh Thanh commune in particular built that place into a Memorial Area to display documents, artifacts, and images of Uncle Ho and his hometown Yen Thanh.

At the ceremony, the commemorative speech presented by the leader of Yen Thanh district respectfully recalled the beautiful and profound memories of the honor of welcoming Uncle Ho to visit Vinh Thanh commune; expressed the gratitude and respect of the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Thanh district towards Uncle Ho.

Over the past 60 years, his precious sentiments and advice have always been remembered by the cadres and people of Yen Thanh district in general and Vinh Thanh commune in particular, becoming a compass and a strong source of motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Thanh district and Vinh Thanh commune to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully complete their political tasks, and contribute to the province and the whole country to beautify the glorious history of the nation.

The 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Vinh Thanh commune is a broad political activity, organized to educate ideology and foster love for the homeland for cadres, people and young generations of Yen Thanh district. The activity took place enthusiastically and meaningfully, becoming an emulation movement with many practical and effective activities. The celebration is also an opportunity for the Party Committee and people of Yen Thanh district to deeply review their weaknesses and shortcomings, and then be more determined to promote their strengths to build their homeland to develop more and more.

In the coming time, the Party Committee and people of Yen Thanh district are determined to continue to successfully implement the Party's Resolution and Uncle Ho's advice: Building the great national unity bloc, effectively exploiting all resources, completing the assigned tasks; striving to bring Yen Thanh out of the state of a poor district, contributing to making the province a well-off province as Uncle Ho always wished; successfully building the district to achieve advanced, exemplary new rural areas...

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee respectfully recalled Uncle Ho's instructions during his two visits to his hometown and Vinh Thanh commune; commended the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Thanh district in the economic development and improvement of people's lives over the past 60 years.

Comrade Bui Thanh An expressed his wish that: The Party Committee, government and people of Yen Thanh continue to promote the tradition of the homeland of the indomitable comrade Phan Dang Luu; strengthen solidarity; uphold the spirit of self-reliance and aspiration to rise up, be proactive, creative, concentrate intelligence, inherit and promote the achieved results, overcome all difficulties; mobilize and effectively use local resources, potentials and advantages, remove bottlenecks; promote patriotic emulation movements, especially studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh; be determined to implement the testament and instructions of beloved Uncle Ho in conjunction with successfully implementing the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.
