Awarding prizes to 11 outstanding works in the songwriting campaign about Truong Bon

On the evening of October 30, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to summarize the Campaign to compose songs about Truong Bon. Attending and awarding prizes to the authors and works were musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - Vice President of the Vietnam Musicians Association; Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The campaign to compose songs about Truong Bon has the following themes: Praising the great significance of the Truong Bon victory in the resistance war against the US to save the country; praising the dedication and sacrifice of the forces and people, especially the heroic example of 13 youth volunteers of the steel squad, the suicide squad of Company 317 - Team 65 - General Youth Volunteer Force against the US who sacrificed their lives while on duty; praising the cultural and historical values ​​of the Truong Bon Historical Relic Site and the cultural traditions and people of Nghe An... Nghe An province encourages compositions that are creative and explore musical materials, forms, structures; melodies, lyrics and methods of performing works.

Nghe An province has established an Appraisal Council, with the participation of 4 musicians nominated by the Vietnam Musicians Association. The Appraisal Council has conducted 3 rounds of judging, selecting 11 quality works to be considered for the award.

As a result, there was no First Prize, but the three songs “Truong Bon Ngay Ve” by Vu Trung, “Tham Lai Truong Bon” by Ho Huu Thoi and “Tiem Em Noi Dat Me Truong Bon” by Dau Thi Hoai Thanh won Second Prize. The prize money for each Second Prize work is 30 million VND.

The three songs “Con xin trao lai uoc mo” (music: Vu Quoc Nam; poetry: Ho Xuan Tu), “Lullaby for ever Truong Bon song” (music: Tran Quoc Chung; poetry: Luong Khac Thanh) and “Mua Dong Loc, gio Truong Bon” (music: Dang Quang Vinh; poetry: Nguyen Viet Chien) won third prize. The prize money for each third prize winning work is 20 million VND.

In addition, Nghe An Province also awarded 5 Encouragement Prizes to 5 songs: "Legendary Truong Bon Moons" by Vo Xuan Hung; "Truong Bon Song" by Nguyen Thai Duong; "Truong Bon Dawn" by Vo Van The; "Truong Bon Memorial Song" (music: Nguyen Lan Hung; poetry: Van Quoc); "Truong Bon Green Forever at 20" (music: Vu Tuan Hoi; poetry: Cam Thach). The prize money for each work winning the Encouragement Prize is 10 million VND.
