On the morning of March 31, the Provincial People's Committee held the closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the contest "Beautiful new rural standard garden" of Nghe An province in 2022.
Attending the closing and awarding ceremony were comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest and representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors and unions of Nghe An province.

Implementing Plan No. 410/KH-UBND, dated June 27, 2018 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the construction of "New rural standard gardenin Nghe An province, period 2018-2020", Decision No. 1541/QD-UBND dated June 6, 2022 on promulgating the set of criteria for villages, hamlets, and villages meeting New Rural standards, and gardens meeting New Rural standards in Nghe An province in the period 2022-2025, as of December 2022, the Department of Agriculture, Farmers' Association, and Gardening Association at all levels have directed the construction of 880 new rural standard gardens and 2,125 farmer model gardens in the direction of new rural standard gardens. Of which, new rural standard garden certificates have been granted to 300 gardens and more than 700 gardens are being assessed and recognized.
Some district-level units have effectively implemented the construction of new rural standard gardens such as: Dien Chau (113 gardens), Nghia Dan (76 gardens), Nam Dan (53 gardens), Thanh Chuong (46 gardens), Nghi Loc (41 gardens), Do Luong (34 gardens), Hung Nguyen (32 gardens), Yen Thanh (28 gardens), Tan Ky (16 gardens)...

Some localities, district and grassroots Party committees and authorities have issued policies and mechanisms to support the construction of new rural standard gardens. Many places have assigned the Farmers' Association to directly direct the implementation, such as Nghia Dan, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan districts...
From the movement, many typical farmer households have emerged in building beautiful new rural standard gardens such as: Mrs. Cao Thi Hoi's household, Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district, with a garden area of 1,073 m2, average income from the garden reaches 60 million VND/year; Mr. Phan Van Nhat's household, Dien Thai commune, Dien Chau district, with a garden area of 980 m2, average income from the garden reaches 150 million VND/year; Mr. Luong Quang Yen's household, Nghia Thanh commune, Nghia Dan district, with a garden area of 7,500 m2, average income from the garden reaches 200 million VND/year...

Notably, after more than 3 years of implementationBuilding new rural standard garden, people's awareness of developing household garden economy is increasingly interested and focused; economic efficiency from gardens is increasingly evident. From the movement, it has helped farmers have the motivation to plan and renovate the campus, invest in applying scientific and technical advances and high-value plant varieties to grow in home gardens, initially bringing economic efficiency, contributing to changing the face of the new rural countryside.
16 beautiful new rural standard gardens won awards
To improve the effectiveness of the movement to build new rural standard gardens, meeting the requirements of new rural construction in the next phase, in 2022, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 114 on Organizing the "Beautiful New Rural Standard Garden" contest in Nghe An province.

Implementing the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee, districts, cities and towns launched the contest, organized the review and selected 47 typical gardens to participate in the provincial contest. Through the judging rounds, the Organizing Committee recognized16 award-winning gardens, including: 1 garden won First Prize; 2 gardens won Second Prize; 3 gardens won Third Prize; 10 gardens won Encouragement Prize.
The results of the judging rounds show that: The planning and implementation of the planning were seriously implemented by the garden owners; the owners invested in many items, especially the renovation of the water supply and drainage system; construction of roads in the garden; arrangement of tree planting areas and auxiliary works in a scientific and highly aesthetic manner. The application of science and technology and production linkage were focused on investment by the owners.

Households have selected valuable crops and livestock that are suitable for local soil conditions and market consumption and tastes; Environmental landscape factors are of great concern to households. In particular, the income from the gardens of participating households is many times higher than the income from rice cultivation in the commune. Most of the gardens have an average income of over 40 million VND/1,000m2; some gardens have an average income of over 100 million VND/1,000m2.

In the coming time, to effectively implement the movement of building new rural standard gardens, all levels and sectors from the province to the grassroots level will continue to promote propaganda and guidance on the movement of building model gardens and new rural standard gardens, considering this an important criterion in recognizing new rural communes, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas; supplement and adjust the criteria for recognizing new rural standard gardens in accordance with practical requirements; prioritize the development of criteria for developing garden economy in a modern direction, applying high technology.
At the same time, focus on developing garden economy associated with building One Commune One Product; Developing gardens in the direction of VietGAP production, organic agriculture and linking with enterprises, cooperatives, and cooperatives in production and product consumption.
