Awarding prizes for breaking up a gambling case using lottery and betting via Zalo and Facebook

On the morning of February 17, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Quynh Luu District unexpectedly awarded the outstanding achievements of the Special Project 220B in fighting gambling crimes in the district. Attending the event were comrade Hoang Danh Lai - Secretary of the District Party Committee - Chairman of the People's Council of Quynh Luu District.

At the award ceremony, the District Police briefly reported on the process of establishing and fighting the project. Accordingly, on February 2, 2020, Quynh Luu District Police established a project coded 220B, focusing on fighting against the activities of subjects in the gambling ring in the form of betting on lottery numbers via Zalo, Facebook, and Messenger messages.

By February 9, Quynh Luu District Police had arrested 7 suspects, confiscated nearly 300 million VND, 710 Japanese Yen, 13 mobile phones, 2 laptops, and 38 betting boards. Currently, the investigation is continuing to expand.

At the same time, just 2 weeks after the Lunar New Year, Quynh Luu District Police have consecutively broken up 4 major cases, eliminated 2 criminal gangs of property theft, arrested 9 subjects, clarified 13 theft cases, seized cash and assets worth a total of over 264 million VND and returned them to the owners; eliminated 2 large gambling rings using high technology.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Secretary of the District Party Committee Hoang Danh Lai acknowledged the efforts and attempts in the strong fight against all types of crime, especially gambling and property theft, ensuring good security and order. At the same time, he requested the unit to continue to promote its role and responsibility in the strong fight against all types of crime and social evils, ensuring peace for the people.

In recognition of the achievements of the District Police, the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee decided to give bonuses to the unit and the task force.
