Eliminate prostitution den disguised as a motel room in Thanh Chuong

On May 17, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province announced that it had successfully broken up Project 125MD, destroying a prostitution ring in Tan Phong Hamlet, Thanh Khai Commune, Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province, owned by Dinh Thi Thuy (42 years old).

Recently, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has continuously received information that at the motel of Dinh Thi Thuy, residing in Tan Phong hamlet, Thanh Khai commune, Thanh Chuong district, there are many signs of suspicious prostitution activities, causing outrage among the people.

Faced with that information, the authorities quickly verified and determined that the incident was as reported. Project 125MD was established to combat it.

After a period of time to grasp the situation and use professional measures, on May 14, 2017 at about 9:45 p.m., the authorities discovered and caught red-handed at Dinh Thi Thuy's motel, in rooms 1, 2, 4 and room 6 of the motel, 4 couples of men and women were engaged in prostitution. The authorities made a record and brought the subjects to the agency for questioning.

Comrade Tran Ngoc Minh, an officer of the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Police, said: This is a prostitution den that operates quite sophisticatedly. The brothel owners are often wary of the activities of the authorities. The masses are upset but do not dare to report it for fear of retaliation.

Furthermore, the subject did not record specific activities, the money transfer was not done directly but the customer could pay the owner later. On the other hand, the prostitutes here were also afraid and ashamed so they did not dare to publicly denounce the behavior of the motel owner.

At the investigation agency, Dinh Thi Thuy confessed to all her actions. Accordingly, Dinh Thi Thuy had 13 small rooms built behind her house in the style of a motel. However, instead of renting them out to guests, Thuy regularly fed and housed 8 to 10 girls who were ready to sell sex to guests when needed. Whenever there were customers buying sex, Thuy collected 200,000 VND from each customer for one session of prostitution, then paid the prostitutes 100,000 VND, and kept the rest.

Currently, the case is being further investigated by the authorities.
