On the morning of April 24, at the People's Committee of Lam Son commune, Do Luong district, the People's Court of Do Luong district held a public mobile trial of defendant Dam Cong Luat (born 1996), residing in Lam Son commune, Do Luong district, for the crime of "Evading military service".

According to the case file and at the trial, defendant Dam Cong Luat admitted that on March 6, 2018, Luat had an order to call citizens to join the army. However, Luat did not show up to join the army without a valid reason, so Luat was administratively fined 2,500,000 VND by the Chairman of Lam Son Commune People's Committee.(Two million five hundred thousand dong)on violations of military service regulations.
At the end of 2018, Luat continued to be on the list of summons for military service health examination in 2019. After 2 announcements, Luat clearly knew about the information that Luat had a mobilization order for military service health examination on November 12, 2018, but because he did not want to be called for military service, Dam Cong Luat deliberately stayed in Vinh city to work instead of returning to Lam Son Commune Health Station, Do Luong to participate in the health examination according to the mobilization order.
Based on the entire case file, the litigation process at the trial, and related details, the first instance panel of judges of Do Luong District People's Court sentenced Dam Cong Luat to 6 months in prison for the crime of "evading military service".
