In 10 years, Nghe An recorded nearly 8,000 cases of domestic violence.

On the morning of June 18, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports, and the People's Committee of Do Luong district organized a launching ceremony to respond to the National Action Month against Domestic Violence and celebrate Vietnamese Family Day June 28, 2019.

Attending were comrade Ho Mau Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.

Like many other localities, domestic violence is still a pressing issue in social life, causing a decline in family happiness and damage to the economy and social security in Nghe An.

The theme of this year's Action Month is: "Preventing domestic violence is the responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society".

Accordingly, during the month of action, the organization of a communication campaign on domestic violence prevention and control in the province will be promoted to create positive effects, raise awareness and responsibility of families and communities in preventing and controlling domestic violence; prevent, detect and promptly handle acts of domestic violence, support victims of domestic violence; commend and reward individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in preventing and controlling domestic violence in the area.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Culture & Sports called on organizations, agencies, unions, and each locality from villages, hamlets, residential groups to each family to unite and join hands to act for a society without domestic violence.

On this occasion, the Provincial Steering Committee and participating districts signed a commitment and marched to call on everyone to respond to the National Action Month to prevent domestic violence.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leaders of the People's Committee of Do Luong district expressed their determination to prevent domestic violence by regularly strengthening the propaganda of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and the Law on Gender Equality; Proactively grasping the situation of domestic violence cases to prevent them in time, not allowing serious cases to occur; Promoting the movement to build cultural families, civilized lifestyles, and cultural villages. Building schools as centers of culture, education and training, training people with intelligence, strength, morality and personality.
