According to a quick report from the Food Safety Steering Committee of Thai Hoa Town: In the food poisoning incident at Hitexvinam Garment Factory (located in Nghia My Industrial Park, Thai Hoa Town, Nghe An), a total of 70 people were infected.

After lunch on May 22 (including stir-fried water spinach and braised pork and eggs), at 2 p.m., many workers began to show symptoms of vomiting and stomachache. Suspecting that the workers had food poisoning, the garment factory reported to Thai Hoa town and implemented first aid measures.

Upon receiving the information, leaders of Thai Hoa Town, the Food Safety Steering Committee and officers of the Town Health Department were present at the factory, directing and participating in first aid. 70 workers with severe symptoms were taken to Tay Bac General Hospital for emergency treatment.

Of the 70 hospitalized workers, 34 recovered quickly and returned home; the other 36 workers were treated as outpatients and monitored. All 36 workers are currently doing well and are expected to be discharged by noon today.

A representative of the Nghe An Province Food Safety and Hygiene Department said: Immediately after the poisoning occurred, a working group of the Department was present at the Hitexvina Garment Factory to take food samples, grasp the situation, and investigate the cause of the incident.
