Successfully salvaged stranded fishing boat in Nghe An

On the morning of May 17, information from Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district said that the ship with license plate NA 0277 TS that ran aground from May 15-16 at Dien Thanh sea was successfully salvaged on the night of May 16.

According to fishermen, on the afternoon of May 16, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station, Dien Bich Commune authorities and fishermen pumped water and sand from the ship and mobilized excavators to lift the ship. At around 6 p.m., the tide rose, and the local authorities mobilized large ships to tow the stranded ship back to shore at night.

Immediately after being pulled up, the ship was taken for repairs, with estimated damage of about 120 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lien - Vice Chairman of Dien Bich Commune People's Committee said: This is the 6th local ship that has run aground since the beginning of 2020, with total damage amounting to billions of dong. For fishermen, this is a huge loss, especially during the recent difficult times at sea.

Currently, fishermen in Dien Chau district hope that Lach Van estuary will soon be dredged and cleared so that they can safely stay at sea and avoid risks in the future.
