The initial facilities were just 4 newly built grade 4 classrooms with investment capital from the district; People of 2 communes contributed materials and labor to build 2 rows of thatched houses on low land which used to be the fields of Khe Lo villagers. The school had only 146 students and 10 teachers from the lowlands to the mountains.

Most of the students in Luc Da and Mon Son communes have a high rate of poor households, many villages are far from schools. Many children, due to difficult family circumstances, have to stay home to look after their younger siblings, go to the forest to pick bamboo shoots or work for their parents, so the dropout rate is still high. However, overcoming the difficulties, teachers and students of the school have made tireless efforts, achieving encouraging results such as the first provincial excellent student title, the first university admission letter.
