Vinh City Youth lit 1,000 candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2018), on the evening of July 26, Vinh City Youth Union organized a "Candle Lighting Ceremony to pay tribute" to heroic martyrs at Vinh City Martyrs Cemetery.
The program “Lighting candles in gratitude” to the heroic martyrs of Vinh City’s youth is one of the practical and meaningful activities expressing pride, upholding the good morality of the nation “when drinking water, remember its source”, “repaying gratitude”; always being proactive, voluntary, responsible and affectionate in joining hands with society to carry out many projects and tasks on the occasion of the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
In the sacred atmosphere at Vinh City Martyrs' Cemetery, the resting place of nearly 1,000 outstanding sons and daughters, Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, delegates and nearly 700 union members and youths offered flowers, incense, and placed 1,000 candles on the martyrs' graves with sincere hearts of remembrance, infinite gratitude, and deep gratitude for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who devoted their youth, blood, and bones, and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.
