Commemorating the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs Cemetery on Route 9 and Quang Tri Citadel
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 21, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2021), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province visited and commemorated the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9 and Quang Tri Citadel.

(Baonghean.vn) - At Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery (Quang Tri province), the delegation of Nghe An province respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
The delegation was led by comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Also in the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

The National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of 10,800 heroic martyrs who fought and served on the Road 9 front, the Quang Tri battlefield and Laos during the resistance war against the US, including 347 martyrs from Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
The National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery is also a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, of the spirit and will to fight for independence and the desire for peace of our nation.

At the cemetery, in a sacred atmosphere, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the province, departments and branches offered incense and flowers at the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh; offered flowers and incense at the Memorial and held a ceremony, offered flowers, offered incense and burned incense at each grave of martyrs from Nghe An.
With sincere respect, the delegation of Nghe An province expressed deep gratitude and infinite sorrow for the heroic and noble sacrifice of the martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.

We pledge before the souls of the martyrs that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province are determined to make every effort to promote the emulation movement and labor production to build Uncle Ho's beloved homeland to become increasingly prosperous and civilized; the people's lives to become increasingly prosperous and happy, worthy of the heroic sacrifices of the heroes and martyrs.
Next, the delegation of Nghe An province also came to lay wreaths and offer incense at Quang Tri Citadel. During our people's resistance war against the US to save the country, Quang Tri Citadel was recorded in the history of the nation as a golden milestone of revolutionary heroism through the brave and resilient fight to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri Town during 81 historic days and nights, the fiery summer of 1972.

In that fierce battle, thousands of liberation soldiers across the country and the people of Quang Tri fought bravely, sacrificed, and remained forever on this land. Their blood was mixed into the soil so that the country could have an independent day, and the people could have freedom and happiness.

With infinite gratitude, in a solemn and emotional moment, the delegation respectfully laid wreaths, offered incense, and respectfully bowed to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
On the same afternoon, the delegation of Nghe An province visited, offered flowers and incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.
