Drink a cup of tea every morning for a healthy heart
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Are you like most people, opting for a hot cup of tea or a strong cup of coffee?
With their own strengths, green tea and coffee are both top-priority drinks, a wise choice for you to start a long, active day. If coffee is considered the top drink against oxidation by the majority of Americans, then those who choose tea have more advantages, especially with green tea.

Green tea is a nutritious drink. |
Recent findings from Columbia University Medical Center show that women with breast cancer who take green tea extract (Polyphenon E) have a significant improvement in their condition. Specifically, 40 breast cancer patients were randomly assigned to receive a placebo - a drug with no pharmacological effect to trick the patient's psychology - 400 mg, 600 mg or 800 mg of green tea extract twice a day for about 6 months. And every two months, researchers will take blood and urine samples from the patients.
What did they find? Patients taking the tea extract showed a significant reduction in the number of cancer cells growing in the first two months of use compared to those taking the placebo. However, after this time, the density of cancer cells remained virtually unchanged.
Researchers also found a reduction in cholesterol and vascular endothelial growth factor, a protein that, at high levels, can indicate cancer spread, in patients taking the extract.
Although it may be too early to recognize green tea as a new substance that can prevent cancer, because the research scale is quite limited. But green tea has partly proven its ability when a recent study from the University of California found that men with prostate cancer who drank green tea had lower levels of inflammation, a factor related to the development of the disease.

Green tea brings many wonderful benefits to the body. |
Let's learn more about the following 5 great health benefits of green tea:
A healthy heart:The high antioxidant content in green tea can reduce high blood pressure. Squeeze a little lemon into your cup of tea to increase the amount of vitamin C, which helps to enhance the absorption from the tea.
Power Supply:Scientists have found that when lab mice ate green tea, their stamina and endurance increased by up to 24%.
A slim body:The catechins and antioxidants in green tea are effective in burning belly fat. Studies show that the caffeine in tea releases fatty acids so you can burn calories (and fat) more easily.
Allergy reduction:Japanese researchers suggest that the compound EGCG, another antioxidant found in green tea, may help boost your immunity against allergens like pet dander, pollen, and dust.
Good memory:A recent Canadian study found that when snails were submerged in water containing epicatechin, an antioxidant found in foods like chocolate and green tea, their memories improved significantly. And so good is the study’s author that he thinks it could work for humans, too.
