On an area of ​​over 2,500 square meters of land owned by a household in Block 4, Long Son Ward, Thai Hoa Plant Protection Station has proactively coordinated to plant over 7,000 melon trees.

Especially when grown at high temperatures, pests find it difficult to develop, and all stages are carried out manually, so quality is guaranteed. This is a model that comes from the flexibility and creativity of the Plant Protection Station to help farmers access new varieties.

The family of Ms. Vi Thi Ha in Block 4, Long Son Ward, Thai Hoa Town is a household that directly cooperates with the Town Plant Protection Station in implementing the model. It is known that previously, this area of ​​the family could not grow anything due to many difficulties. However, when implementing the planting of melons, it brought many surprises.

Ms. Vi Thi Ha said: All the care steps are normal, because of the hot weather, pests cannot survive, I just take care of watering and weeding. The melon plants grow well, produce large, even fruits, so we are very happy.

After 40 days of planting, farmers focus on wrapping the fruit to avoid harmful insects.

At this time, farmers are focusing on wrapping the fruit. It is expected that in about 20 days, the melons will be harvested. The estimated yield is over 6 tons for the entire model. This is considered to be double the yield of indoor-grown melons.

We were very excited because the fruit was heavy, it not only created more jobs, but also changed the mindset of farmers like us.
