Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee: Supervising 43 topics related to socio-economics

In 2018, promoting the role of gathering the great national unity bloc, the City Fatherland Front Committee and wards and communes continued to play a core role in propagating and mobilizing people of all walks of life to implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State as well as programs and campaigns launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In particular, closely following the political tasks of the city, the city Fatherland Front and the creative wards and communes have selected and implemented a number of models, such as the propaganda model, mobilizing people to dump waste at the prescribed time on the main roads of the city; installing trash cans in public places, building civilized streets; flower roads; murals; self-managed residential areas, environmental sanitation; mobilizing businesses to say no to dirty food...

The city's Fatherland Front and wards and communes have also focused on propaganda and mobilizing people to actively clear land to implement projects in the area.

The city and grassroots Fatherland Front also chaired the organization of a dialogue program between the grassroots government and the people, contributing to building a government for the people and serving the people; mobilized contributions to support the fund for the poor with a donation of more than 2.7 billion VND and organized the Tet program for the poor in the spring of Mau Tuat 2018 with 3.6 billion VND.

The city's Fatherland Front at all levels has paid attention to innovating and improving the quality of social supervision and criticism activities by selecting practical and effective contents that impact the city's socio-economy.

During the year, the Fatherland Front at two levels carried out 43 thematic supervisions, such as supervision of the mobilization of contributions, management and use of funds and people's contributions; administrative reform, public ethics of officials and civil servants; reception and handling of citizens' petitions, etc.

Based on the assessment of the Front's tasks in 2018, the City Fatherland Front Committee also deployed a program of coordinated and unified action in 2019 and implemented the plan for the Tet program for the poor in the Spring of Ky Hoi 2019.

On this occasion, 8 individuals received the Medal "For the cause of great national unity"; 5 collectives and 5 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the work of the Front in 2018; 26 collectives and 13 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the City Fatherland Front Committee.
