The National Assembly Standing Committee decided on many important issues at the 17th session.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will summarize the 4th session and give initial opinions on preparations for the 2nd extraordinary session and the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly.
The 17th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee took place on November 28. One of the important contents was to summarize the 4th session and give initial opinions on the preparations for the 2nd extraordinary session and the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave its opinion on the signing of an agreement between the Vietnamese Government and the US Government on the conditions for renovating, constructing and maintaining buildings related to diplomatic and consular agencies of the two sides (the Coca agreement).

Regarding personnel work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment and dismissal of ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the allocation of the remaining central budget development investment capital for the 2021-2025 period of the 3 National Target Programs and additional foreign capital for the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, 2021-2025 period; the adjustment of the 2022 re-borrowing capital plan of localities; the addition of the State budget estimate of foreign non-refundable aid capital (regular expenditure source) in 2021.
Also at this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and decided on additional funding to purchase rice for national reserves.
Earlier this year, the 15th National Assembly spent 4.5 days holding its first extraordinary session and deciding on many extremely important policies not only for 2022 but also for the 2021-2025 period and the following years.
The main highlight is Resolution 43/2022/QH15 on fiscal and monetary policies with a scale of about VND 350,000 billion to proactively prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic and provide timely support for socio-economic recovery and sustainable development to be implemented in 2 years (2022 and 2023), focusing on the following areas: healthcare, COVID-19 prevention and control; social security, labor and employment; support for enterprises, cooperatives, and business households; investment in developing transport infrastructure; digital transformation; prevention and control of riverbank and coastal erosion, ensuring the safety of reservoirs, adapting to climate change, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
The National Assembly considers and decides to allow the application of a number of specific mechanisms and policies on investor selection, decentralization, authorization, etc. for important national projects and other large-scale, important infrastructure projects in the fields of transport and health within the scope of the program and requirements of the Government, all levels and sectors./.
