In Tay Ho hamlet, Nam Thanh commune, many households urgently moved their belongings to safer houses. Ms. Tran Thi Tham, a resident of Tay Ho hamlet, said that since early morning on October 30, the water had reached the threshold of her house. Her family moved rice and belongings to another house to store. At this point, the water had submerged the floor of her house, and her family had to move to another place to live.

Mr. Hoang Van Ha - Chairman of Nam Thanh Commune People's Committee said: Heavy rain in the past few hours has caused 3 hamlets to be affected.flooded: Minh Chau, Phu Son, Tay Ho, Lam Thanh, with a total of over 500 flooded households. Currently, the commune mobilizes forces to the hamlets to guide people to avoid floods in time. The reason for Nam Thanh flooding, according to Mr. Ha, is because the Trung Long canal drainage system cannot drain in time.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hong - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Thanh district said: The rising water from Vu Giang and Bien Hoa rivers caused 29 communes in the area to be flooded: Khanh Thanh, Long Thanh, Nam Thanh, Trung Thanh, Nhan Thanh, Tang Thanh, Vinh Thanh, Lien Thanh, Cong Thanh... some residential areas were flooded more than 2 meters deep.

Statistics show that by the morning of October 31, the entire district had 5,551 households in 77 hamlets, in 29 communes, flooded. Notably, 2 hamlets were isolated by floodwaters, Quan Trong and Dong Phu of Khanh Thanh commune.
Regarding crops and livestock, 396 hectares of corn, 135 hectares of vegetables, 100 hectares of winter-spring rice, and 116 hectares of aquaculture were flooded; thousands of chickens and pigs died.In addition, many irrigation works and dams were eroded and damaged.

"In the coming time, Yen Thanh will monitor and update the developments of floods and rains to proactively respond when bad situations occur. Check and review plans, be ready to evacuate residents in areas at risk of flooding, landslides, and downstream areas of dams to ensure the safety of people and property; especially flooded and isolated hamlets, urgently mobilize forces and means to organize the evacuation of people and their property to safe places.
The district also deploys solutions to ensure the safety of damaged works and works under construction, and prepares plans to ensure safety and restore power grid and communication problems during and after floods. Check flooded roads, install markers, assign people to ensure traffic, and absolutely do not allow people and vehicles to pass through unsafe locations," said Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee.
