Wife sends money back from working abroad, husband uses it to buy drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - Going to a friend's wedding, Nguyen Van Thang took the opportunity to find a source to buy opium with the money his wife sent home from working abroad and was arrested, then brought to court.
On May 31, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendant Nguyen Van Thang (born 1982), residing in Nghia Loc commune, Nghia Dan district, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
The case file shows that on November 26, 2020, Thang went to a friend's wedding and met and talked to a man (unknown background). Knowing that this person was addicted, Thang asked to find outbuy drugspink pill for resale for profit
Two days later, Thang called the drug dealer and ordered 35 million VND worth of heroin. The dealer agreed and told Thang to go to Kim Son town, Que Phong district to make the transaction.

At 2 p.m. the same day, Thang invited his friends to go to Kim Son town to buy drugs. Through the motorbike's turn signal, Thang recognized the seller standing on the side of the road, so he stopped and made the transaction. That evening, when Thang was on his way home, the police arrested him and found more than 600 grams of drugs.
At the trial, Thang admitted to buying and selling drugs for profit. Regarding the money used to buy drugs, Thang said it came from the money his wife sent home from working abroad. After considering the aggravating and mitigating circumstances in the case, the panel sentenced defendant Nguyen Van Thang to 20 years in prison for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.
