The 'Oriental Golden Lotus' roundabout in Vinh city will be completed in a few days.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 26, the golden lotus - the new symbol at the Phuong Dong roundabout was "unveiled" in Vinh City. This giant lotus is both a highlight at an important traffic intersection and a symbol of a shining Vinh city, but still imbued with traditional cultural identity.
Vinh City is focusing on completing renovation projects to celebrate its 60th anniversary and the 235th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do. Among them, the project to renovate and renew the intersection between the major roads of Truong Thi, Tran Phu, and Le Duan (commonly known as Phuong Dong roundabout) is one of the key projects. This is an important traffic intersection connecting the major roads of the city, with a bustling traffic flow.
Accordingly, this roundabout previously had the image of a large pine tree, but now the city has completely replaced it with the image of a golden lotus. The design was inspired by the image of a lotus and the sun, creating the image of an “Oriental golden lotus”, symbolizing a Vinh city that shines but is still imbued with traditional cultural identity.
The lotus symbol uses steel core composite, painted with gold glitter, creating high visual effect when combined with both day and night light.
The golden lotus will be surrounded by a layer of ornamental plants, using colorful foliage and seasonal flowers, arranged in a stylized way like sunlight. A fountain system with a gentle spray will be arranged here, creating a background for the lotus symbol.
The lighting at the roundabout is also synchronously decorated, using artistic lighting technology to further clarify the theme of the golden lotus blooming in the sun.
There will be stairs designed in 6 directions, leading visitors to visit and take photos directly next to the city's golden lotus symbol. This is an ideal place to create a promotional image for Vinh city to develop while preserving its identity. However, to take photos at this point, there are measures to ensure safety and awareness of the people because this is a major traffic intersection.
Currently, the construction of the new roundabout has been basically completed, the installation of the golden lotus and other items have also reached the final steps.
This roundabout is expected to be completed in the next few days in time for the 60th anniversary of Vinh City and the 235th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do on September 30.
The renovation and upgrading of the Phuong Dong roundabout with the image of a golden lotus has many meanings, both ensuring the function of safe and reasonable traffic flow; creating a visual highlight, helping people moving in traffic easily remember the routes.
