Arriving at the Thai Hoa Town Military Command at 11:00 a.m. was also the time when the agency's staff and mobile vehicles had just arrived. Although they had not slept for more than a day, they did not show any signs of fatigue because they had completed their mission well.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Phuc - Political Commissar of the Thai Hoa Town Military Command shared: “The unit was on duty during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, but upon hearing the news, the Party Committee and command of the agency dispatched forces and vehicles of the agency along with militia forces from communes around the area where the children drowned to search and rescue. Although it was a holiday, many comrades living near the agency and militia from communes put aside their own joy to urgently participate in the search.”
The sudden passing of the children caused grief to the family and mourning to the neighbors. However, in this unfortunate incident, the families and relatives of the victims were somewhat comforted by the fact that the local authorities, as well as the functional forces and the neighbors were always side by side, working together to find the bodies of the children to hand over to the families to carry out procedures according to local customs.
