Hien Son Commune (Do Luong) received the Certificate of recognition for meeting New Rural standards.

Attending the ceremony on the province side were comrade Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Chief of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office. On the Do Luong district side were comrades: Ngoc Kim Nam - Secretary of the District Party Committee; Le Minh Giang - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the District People's Council; Phung Thanh Vinh - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the District People's Committee.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, from 2012 to 2018, Hien Son commune mobilized over 150 billion VND in investment to build welfare works in the area; of which the central investment capital supported 8 billion VND, the province supported 42.7 billion VND, the district supported 10.3 billion VND, and the commune budget allocated 9.3 billion VND; the rest was contributed by the people.

Hien Son mobilized people to donate 45 thousand m² land and contributed over 15,000 working days. The whole commune has built 12 km of asphalt and concrete roads, 80 km of gravel roads, and nearly 21 km of canals... Currently, 15/15 hamlets have built standard cultural houses. The average income per capita of the commune is 35 million VND/year, the poverty rate has decreased from 31% in 2010 to 4.7% in 2018; the employment rate is over 90%.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Head of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the New Rural Area construction of Hien Son commune. In particular, the locality has effectively promoted the support capital from the superiors, mobilized the source of money and labor days of the people to invest in infrastructure construction; creating the premise for the successful implementation of the New Rural Area criteria.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Chief of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office awarded the Certificate of Recognition to Hien Son commune for meeting the New Rural Area standards in 2018; awarded a reward of 500 million VND from the Provincial People's Committee to Hien Son commune. Do Luong District People's Committee awarded a reward of 100 million VND to Hien Son commune.

Also on this occasion, 8 collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee, 17 individuals and collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit by the District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Nghe An joins hands to build new countryside"./.
