In the joyful atmosphere welcoming the new spring, the Party Committee, government and people of Nam Thanh commune are excitedly preparing for the 27th Party Congress of the commune (term 2020 - 2025). The Party Committee of Nam Thanh commune is proud to be one of the units selected by the Yen Thanh district Party Committee for the model congress.

Comrade Phan The Trung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Thanh commune excitedly said: In the past term, although there were still certain difficulties, with the solidarity and high unity of cadres, party members and people of the commune, they made efforts and strived to overcome, arouse internal potential, attract investment to implement the resolution of the Party Congress of the commune.

In general, the locality basically achieved and exceeded the set targets. The economic structure shifted in a positive direction, culture and society made many advances, the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life in residential areas achieved many results, the new rural criteria were gradually improved. The economic and social infrastructure was strengthened and synchronized, the material and spiritual life of the people was improved. National defense was ensured, political security and social order and safety were maintained. Party building and the political system were consolidated and strengthened.

Highlights of Nam Thanh in the past 5 years: Agricultural production has had changes in the structure of crops and livestock, forming many large production areas, new rice varieties, high quality; specialized areas have been converted to intensive farming, increasing crops according to the VietGAP program for high income, gradually forming a closed production chain. The average income value per unit of cultivated area reaches 95-100 million VND/ha/year.

Livestock has developed comprehensively in an industrial, concentrated direction, suitable for the market, meeting the consumption needs of the people. In the commune, people have taken advantage of advantages and potentials to build 13 large-scale farms and ranches raising ducks, chickens, pigs, etc., bringing economic efficiency. Diverse and rich agricultural service activities have created many jobs for workers with stable and positive incomes.

The average annual growth rate in the industrial and construction sector reached 14.8%; production value reached over 153 trillion VND, reaching 101% of the plan, accounting for 37.03%, an increase of 6.3% compared to the congress target.

In the commune, concentrated production clusters have been formed, such as construction materials, agricultural processing, masonry, civil carpentry, food processing, construction materials exploitation, and industrial sewing, creating stable jobs for 450 - 500 workers.

During the past term, the locality has attracted many state investment projects, built many large-scale welfare projects to develop the economy and ensure social security. Newly built and upgraded residential houses are increasingly spacious, and the rural appearance is increasingly improving.

Services and trade had an average annual growth rate of 21.25%; production value reached VND86,518 billion, reaching 109.2% of the target, accounting for 34.84%. Trading and service points were formed and developed in a rich and diverse manner. The number of small traders, private services, restaurants and other service activities increased rapidly, gradually meeting the consumption needs of the people, contributing to the shift in labor structure and increasing income.

Education is given attention, schools are increasingly spacious, teaching quality has many changes. Every year, the percentage of excellent and good students at all levels increases; the teaching staff meets standards; the implementation of the industry's policy on "fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training" has many positive changes.

Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities are widely developed for all ages, attracting a large number of members to participate in all fields. The rate of cultural families annually reaches 86.5%, and the rate of working-age people with jobs reaches 95%.
