On the morning of April 18, the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thanh district coordinated with the People's Committee of Dong Thanh commune and charitable organizations to organize a groundbreaking ceremony to build a house of gratitude for a family in especially difficult circumstances in Dong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

The house that started construction this time belongs to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nghi, residing in Nam Giang hamlet, Dong Thanh commune.

Mrs. Nghi, 76 years old this year, is the character in the article.The heartbreaking family situation of a 76-year-old woman raising 3 mentally ill and paralyzed children.

Mrs. Nghi is a poor household with extremely difficult circumstances. Of her 7 children, she has lost 2, the remaining 3 suffer from mental illness and severe disabilities. In her old age, she still hunts crabs and snails every day to feed her children affected by Agent Orange. Due to her extremely difficult circumstances, she does not have the means to repair or upgrade her seriously degraded house.

Mr. Phan Van Kien - Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Thanh commune said: The total value of the house is more than 200 million VND, of which, the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thanh district supported 60 million VND, the remaining amount was contributed by charitable organizations, benefactors and brothers and relatives.

The level 4 house of gratitude is expected to be completed after more than 2 months from the start date. In addition to the financial support, villagers and neighbors will also contribute to work such as construction and bricklaying to help the family build the new house.

Supporting the construction of a charity house not only helps Ms. Nghi have a stable place to live, but is also a great source of encouragement, giving her and her family more strength to overcome difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives.
