Quang Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) receives Certificate of recognition as a commune meeting new rural standards

On the morning of November 16, Quang Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition for meeting new rural standards. The ceremony was also attended by the Provincial New Rural Coordination Office and leaders of Yen Thanh district.

Although starting from a low starting point and with limited investment resources, thanks to the effective implementation of democratic regulations and the mobilization of the people's strength, the National Target Program on New Rural Development in Quang Thanh mountainous commune has achieved encouraging results. The whole commune has mobilized a total of nearly 200 billion VND, of which the people contributed over 64%.

With the motto "The State and the people work together", currently 100% of commune roads, inter-commune roads, alley roads, and village roads are concreted, asphalted and hardened with aggregate; the irrigation system basically meets production needs.

In economic development, the commune has promoted the restructuring of crops and livestock, effectively promoted cooperatives and livestock cooperatives, diversified household economic models... bringing the average income per capita to over 34 million VND/year, the poverty rate to only over 3.6%. 2/3 of schools have been recognized as meeting national standards, 6/8 villages have been recognized as Cultural Villages.

With those efforts, in October 2019, Quang Thanh commune was recognized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as a commune meeting the New Rural Standards in 2019.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Recognition for the commune meeting the NTM standards and awarded Quang Thanh commune a welfare project worth 500 million VND.

4 collectives and 4 individuals of Quang Thanh commune were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 4 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements in the movement "Yen Thanh joins hands to build new rural areas in the period 2011-2020" were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district.
