Determining the initial cause of the fishing boat fire in Quynh Luu

Speaking to reporters this afternoon, July 30, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh - Vice Chairman of Quynh Luu District People's Committee said: Authorities have determined the initial cause of the incident.5 fishing boats burnedof fishermen anchored at Lach Quen Fishing Port area was due to an electrical short circuit.

Accordingly, the fire started from the fishing boat with license plate: NA-99696-TS owned by Mr. Bui Xuan Xin (residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu) causing the fire. The fire broke out, breaking the anchor rope, causing the boat to drift with the current and the fire spread to 4 other fishing boats. Because there were many flammable items on the boat, along with strong winds, the fire broke out fiercely, causing 5 boats to be completely damaged.

However, the authorities are still collecting information and seizing necessary items to continue investigating and clarifying the case.

"The assessment of the damage shows that the fire caused more than 20 billion VND in damage, including fishing boats and equipment, fishing gear... Currently, the People's Committee continues to direct localities and political organizations to mobilize and support the damaged boat owners. In the immediate future, the District People's Committee has directly supported each boat owner with 20 million VND," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh shared.

5. Fishing boat NA-90636-TS owned by owner Tran Van Tan in Quynh Long commune.
