Building Vinh City General Hospital to meet 'Smart Hospital' standards

The report at the conference stated that over the past year, the hospital Party Committee has focused on directing and organizing the implementation of unit development contents in the right direction, and achieved remarkable results.
The medical examination and treatment system in the entire hospital is developed in both breadth and depth, synchronously in all departments/offices, from facilities; equipment; human resources and expertise - science and technology.
The hospital continues to be completed and modernized in a systematic and professional manner. The quality of medical services has been significantly improved, always recognized and highly appreciated by the people. The number of patients continues to increase, averaging from 2,000 to 2,500 people/day.

The hospital has expanded 12 more clinics (including 2 professor clinics); in particular, it has established a Department of Examination on Demand, inviting leading experts from higher levels to directly examine patients or consult online remotely. In the past year, in addition to implementing conventional techniques according to the technical classification list of the Grade II Hospital, many new and specialized techniques continued to be effectively implemented; such as: Completing laparoscopic surgery (PTNS) to lithotripsy through the skin using a small tunnel; Retrograde endoscopy to lithotripsy with a flexible endoscope; PTNS to remove non-functional kidneys; PTNS to remove thyroid tumors; PTNS to treat inguinal hernias in children; Colonoscopy, gastric polyp removal; hemostasis; Completing Pathological Anatomy Labo; Specialized immune tests in cardiovascular...

The number of patients undergoing surgery at the operating room in 2019 averaged 30-35 cases/day (last year only 10-15 cases/day), many severe cases - type I and special surgeries were promptly and safely intervened. Although the number of patients undergoing surgery and technical interventions was very high, the rate of complications occurring was very low (1/1000) during the treatment process.
Medical ethics - the spirit of service attitude, is always concerned and directed by the Party Committee and hospital leaders. The results show that people highly appreciate and praise the development and comprehensive innovation of the hospital.
Next year's goal is to build Vinh City General Hospital to meet the standards of a Class II Smart General Hospital, complete with a structure of 500 beds; Hospital quality reaching level 4.20; Continuing to comprehensively innovate all aspects of operations - focusing on forming and developing specialized medical examination and treatment centers. The hospital operates under a mechanism of autonomy for all regular and investment expenses (group I according to Decree 85/2012/ND-CP). At the same time, expand the second facility, with an area of: 4,000 m2; to form and develop a specialized urology center with a scale of 100 beds.
At the conference, party members discussed and contributed ideas for hospital development, focusing on the following contents: quality of medical examination and treatment, patient service style and attitude, staff training, etc.
Concluding the conference, Doctor Nguyen Hong Truong - Party Committee Secretary, Hospital Director emphasized: Although in the process of development, the hospital still faces many difficulties and challenges in the process of transition from the mechanism of autonomy in regular expenditure to the mechanism of autonomy in regular expenditure and investment, the hospital is overloaded in all aspects, the team of key staff has not met the speed of development of the hospital in the new period...
