660 establishments were fined for violating food safety
(Baonghean.vn) - During the "Month of Action for Food Safety" in 2023, interdisciplinary and specialized working groups inspected 6,337 food production, trading and processing establishments; and issued administrative fines totaling over 781 million VND.
Implementation"Month of action for food safety"In 2023 (April 15, 2023 - May 15, 2023), Nghe An has promoted information and communication work to raise awareness of facility owners, people directly involved in food production, business, and processing as well as consumers in ensuring food safety.

The province organized 114 media talks for 5,204 people; organized 38 training courses with 4,660 participants; 4,105 radio broadcasts; 31 television programs; 90 news articles and newspapers were published; along with that, tens of thousands of leaflets, posters, banners, and slogans were hung and distributed to the people.
In the inspection, examination and supervision work, Nghe An has organized 473 interdisciplinary working groups (of which 07 are provincial, 26 are district and 440 are communal); inspecting 6,337 food production, trading and processing establishments.
As a result, 5,677 establishments met the requirements (89.6%) and 660 establishments violated the regulations (10.4%). The working groups issued administrative fines totaling over VND781 million and destroyed a food item worth over VND45 million.
Nghe An Health Department has also conducted food contamination risk monitoring with 50 food samples, currently awaiting results. In addition, the department also conducts food safety monitoring at 23 food service establishments and tourist areas.
During the "Month of action for food safety" in 2023, the province also recorded 01 case.poisoningFood poisoning at Thuan Son Kindergarten (Do Luong) infected 76 people, with no deaths. The cause of the poisoning was due to the use of food contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus./.
