The song "Far Away" is performed by singer Tran Hong Nhung. |
The soulful melody of the song "Far Away Land" makes the audience feel clearly the pain and loss that the war has left behind: "Searching for each other across the length of the country. Searching for each other between two fronts of battle. Searching for each other, never to return. The sacred souls of the mountains and rivers are carved into monuments."
The men and women were in their 20s, the youngest just over 17, together they overcame the fierceness of the battlefield when they had to expose their faces to the blazing sun and the sweltering heat of the Lao wind during the day to fill bomb craters, level roads and clear paths, willing to sacrifice themselves rather than let the roads be blocked or vehicles jammed at the Truong Bon key point.
In that emotional space, the audience is led to more specific and clear sketches of the fighting life and youthful dreams of 14 youth volunteers of Squad 2 - Company 317 - Team 65 - General Youth Volunteer Team against America, saving the country of Nghe An province in part 2 called "Truong Bon Memories".
The artists sang praises of the heroic and noble sacrifice through the song "Legend of Truong Bon". |
The 13 soldiers of Squad 2 that day were young men and women, carrying with them the dreams and ambitions of youth. Some of them would become husbands and wives in a few days. Some of them were preparing to leave the army to return home, continuing to fulfill their dreams and plans. But they remained forever on October 31, 1968 under the enemy's bombs and bullets.
13 years of youth, 13 stories forever remain in the ground, their blood has dissolved into the land, sky, trees and grass. There are people who do not have a single portrait left behind. They have devoted their youth, love, future aspirations... to create an immortal Truong Bon.
