(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 8, SOS Children's Village Vinh held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary (January 9, 1992 - January 9, 2022). Attending were comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Minh Giang - National Director of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam and representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

HOME OF LOVE

SOS Children's Village Vinhis a unit of care, nurturing and educationorphan, children in especially difficult circumstances according to the family model of SOS organization. The village is a gift from SOS International, especially the affection of former President of SOS International Hellmut Kutin for Nghe An province.

The village started construction on May 19, 1990, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, and was officially inaugurated and put into operation on January 9, 1992, with the function and task of nurturing, caring for, and educating orphans, abandoned children, and children in especially difficult circumstances in the province.

The establishment and operation of SOS Children's Village Vinh has profound social and humanistic significance, demonstrating the policy of all for the people of our Party and State, ensuring children's rights; deeply imbuing and arousing the tradition of humanity of our nation and our people.

In 30 years of operation, SOS Children's Village Vinh has truly been a loving home for orphans and children in especially difficult circumstances in the area, becoming a trusted address for many unfortunate lives. With the tireless efforts of the collective of cadres, employees, teachers, mothers, and aunts, SOS Children's Village Vinh has achieved outstanding achievements in caring for, nurturing, and educating children in especially difficult circumstances.

To date, 786 children have been and are being cared for and raised by SOS Children's Village Vinh, of which 393 have grown up and 175 have started families. They have been trained in various levels and fields, have integrated well into the community, and have become useful citizens to society.

In addition, the Village has implemented the “Family Strengthening” Program to provide financial support to relatives who are raising orphans in the community in 13 districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province. As of December 30, 2021, 540 children have been and are being supported by this program.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements that the staff, teachers, mothers and aunts of SOS Children's Village Vinh have achieved over the past 30 years.

At the same time, express deep gratitude to the late President of SOS International - Dr. Hermann Gmeiner - Former President of SOS International, SOS International Organization, SOS Children's Villages Vietnam, generations of cadres, civil servants, employees, and workers of SOS Children's Village Vinh and sincerely thank the golden hearts of philanthropists, domestic and international organizations that have helped the Village during the process of construction and development over the past 30 years.

To continue promoting the tradition of the past 30 years, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested leaders, cadres, employees, teachers, mothers, aunts and children to unite, strive to compete, work, be creative, and study; continue to promote and have many positive and appropriate solutions to further improve the quality of child care and education.

Implement well policies and regimes to ensure that children after leaving the Village can firmly integrate into the community, stabilize their lives and contribute to society; expand financial support for the care and nurturing of orphans in the community so that more and more orphans and children in especially difficult circumstances can be cared for and nurtured but still live with their families or relatives.

Pay attention to training and fostering the staff, employees, teachers, mothers, and aunts, creating a good environment for the staff working in the unit to become increasingly skilled in their expertise and profession, and to love children as their own relatives; take care of the lives of staff, civil servants, and workers; build strong grassroots Party organizations and unions; maintain good relations with local Party committees, authorities, and people; Unite and build a cultural lifestyle; promote cultural, artistic, and sports movements; ensure environmental sanitation, and build SOS Children's Village Vinh to become brighter, greener, cleaner, and more beautiful.

Along with effectively managing and using funding from SOS Children's Villages International and the province, SOS Children's Village Vinh also needs to promote activities to mobilize donations from businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province for the Village's activities.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the young generations of SOS Children's Village Vinh will continue to promote the spirit of overcoming difficulties and fate, in any circumstances, they must study and practice, unite, love, help each other to progress, and be worthy of being a loving home for children in especially difficult circumstances in Uncle Ho's homeland.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag to SOS Children's Village Vinh for completing its tasks and leading the patriotic emulation movement of Nghe An province.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 individuals with outstanding achievements./.
