Yen Thanh has 10 communes with African swine fever.
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 12, in Yen Thanh district, two more communes recorded African swine fever, Khanh Thanh and Tien Thanh.
On June 12, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine announced that two new outbreaks had occurred in the two communes of Tien Thanh and Khanh Thanh in Yen Thanh district of Nghe An.

Previously, Yen Thanh District Veterinary Station sent two samples of sick pigs in Nhan Tien hamlet, Tien Thanh commune and Tien Khanh hamlet, Khanh Thanh commune to the Regional Veterinary Department III for testing. By the evening of June 11, the Regional Veterinary Department III had positive results for African swine fever for the two samples.

There are currently 30 pig raising households in the commune, with a total herd of nearly 4,000 pigs, including one large farm. The commune has received 2 tons of lime powder from the district and purchased another 1 ton to serve the work of disease prevention and control. On June 12, the commune set up 3 epidemic prevention checkpoints.

Khanh Thanh Commune is a locality with many households trading in breeding pigs and pork for a long time. Mr. Nguyen Dao Quy - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said that the locality currently has more than 3,500 pigs. Immediately after the African swine fever epidemic broke out in the area on the afternoon of June 11, the commune implemented epidemic prevention and control solutions according to the commune's scenario.
With the outbreak occurring at Mr. Nguyen Ba Ngoc’s household in Tien Khanh hamlet, the commune destroyed one pig on June 11. This morning, the commune set up eight checkpoints on the roads leading in and out of the commune.
Thus, by June 11, in Yen Thanh district, there were 10 communes recorded with African swine fever: Tho Thanh, Ly Thanh, Dong Thanh, Hong Thanh, Phu Thanh, Tang Thanh, Minh Thanh, Lien Thanh, Tien Thanh and Khanh Thanh.
